Cookie Policy

What we set, why, and how to change your mind.

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies that enhancedmen.co.nz uses, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can opt in or out. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which is the source of truth for how we handle personal information more broadly.

    At a glance

    • We use a small number of cookies — most of them are essential for the site to work, and we set those without asking.
    • For analytics and (in future) marketing cookies, we ask first.
    • You can change your choices at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
    • Notice of what we collect is required under the Privacy Act 2020 (Information Privacy Principle 3), and we apply the consent expectations of the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 to anything that could be linked back to you.

    What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser between page loads, keep you signed in, remember a setting, or count anonymous visits. "Similar technologies" — local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags — work the same way for the purposes of this policy, and we treat them the same.

    How we group cookies

We group cookies into three categories. Only Essential cookies are set before you've decided.

    Essential cookies

These keep the site working. Without them, you can't book a consult or stay logged in.

    • Stripe — payment processing and fraud protection on the booking page. Stripe sets a small number of cookies on its own domain to detect bots and reuse a customer's card details safely. Card numbers are not stored by us.
    • Session and security — short-lived cookies for keeping you signed in and protecting against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
    • Consent state — the em_consent_v1 record itself, so we don't ask you again every time you load the site.
    • Functional preferences — language, accessibility settings, and any "remember me" choice you make.

    Analytics cookies

These help us understand which pages get used, where people get stuck, and what to improve. We only set them if you opt in.

    • GA4 (Google Analytics 4) — anonymous, aggregated traffic and behaviour data. IP addresses are not stored by us; Google may process them in transit. Where set, GA4 cookies typically last up to 24 months.
    • Plausible (if used) — privacy-friendly traffic analytics. No personal identifiers and no cross-site tracking. Cookieless in its default mode.

    Marketing cookies

These would let us measure whether ads we run elsewhere bring people to enhancedmen.co.nz. None are currently live. If we ever turn them on, they'll appear here first.

    • Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tag, LinkedIn Insight Tag — only loaded if you opt in to the Marketing category.

    How we don't use cookies

    • We do not sell information about your browsing to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners.
    • We do not use cookies to build a profile of your health or to draw inferences about your medical history.
    • We do not load any third-party analytics or marketing tag before you've consented to that category.

    Changing your mind

You can change your cookie choices at any time:

    • Click Cookie settings in the website footer to re-open the consent drawer.
    • Clear cookies for enhancedmen.co.nz in your browser — we'll ask again next time you visit.
    • Switch on "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" in your browser — we treat that as a request to keep analytics and marketing off by default.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at the device level. If you do that, parts of the site may not work as well — for example, the booking and payment flow.

    Retention

    • Essential cookies last anywhere from a single session up to 12 months, depending on what they do.
    • Analytics cookies last up to 24 months unless the provider sets a shorter period.
    • Your consent decision itself is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again.

    Third-party cookies

Where a third party sets a cookie (Stripe for payments, Google for GA4, and so on), that party is also bound by its own privacy policy. The main ones:

    Your wider privacy rights

You always have the right under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 to:

    • ask us what information we hold about you;
    • ask us to correct it;
    • ask us to provide a list of who we've shared it with; and
    • complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.

Full detail on those rights is in our Privacy Policy.
