Patient Services Agreement for enhancedmen.co.nz
These are the terms on which Enhanced Men provides telehealth care and on which you use this website. By booking a consult, paying a fee, or using enhancedmen.co.nz, you confirm that you've read these terms and that you accept them.
At a glance
- Enhanced Men is a New Zealand telehealth clinic for adult men, run from Mount Eden, Auckland and operating nationwide since 2026.
- Care is delivered entirely online — there is no walk-in clinic.
- Prescribing is overseen by our lead clinician, an NZ-registered doctor.
- Telehealth is not for emergencies — if you have one, call 111.
- Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, and the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights are not affected by anything in this document.
1. Who we are
Enhanced Men is a private telehealth clinic with a registered office in Mount Eden, Auckland. We provide consultations and prescribing for adult men in the areas of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), hair loss, erectile dysfunction, and athlete and enhanced-care programmes. Prescribing is overseen by Enhanced Men's lead clinician — an NZ-registered doctor. All clinicians are registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and operate under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.
2. The limits of telehealth
Telehealth is well suited to many parts of men's health, but it is not a substitute for in-person medicine in every case. By booking, you understand and accept that:
- We rely on the history you give us, on remote examination, and on lab results — we cannot lay hands on you, and there will be occasions when we recommend you see your GP or a specialist in person.
- A consult can be declined or paused at any time if our clinician judges that your situation cannot be safely managed by telehealth alone.
- Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are seriously unwell, having chest pain, suicidal thoughts, or another acute crisis — call 111, go to your nearest emergency department, or contact your GP after-hours service.
3. Eligibility
To book with Enhanced Men you must:
- be 18 years of age or older;
- be physically located in New Zealand at the time of your consult;
- have a current New Zealand address; and
- have no acute medical condition that would make a telehealth consult unsafe (for example, a current emergency).
We may decline to enrol you, or close your file, if any of these stop being true. We do not knowingly provide care to anyone under 18.
4. Booking a consult and what you're agreeing to
When you book a consult through enhancedmen.co.nz, you are entering into a clinical relationship with Enhanced Men and you are agreeing to:
- give us honest, complete information about your health, medications, allergies, supplements, and any performance-enhancing substances you use;
- attend the booked appointment on time and from a private, quiet location with a reliable internet connection;
- pay the consult fee at the time of booking (see Fees and payment below);
- complete any blood tests, screening questionnaires, or follow-up appointments we recommend in order to prescribe safely;
- follow the treatment plan agreed with your clinician — and to come back to us promptly if something changes or you have side effects.
If you don't give us accurate information, or you don't complete the screening we ask for, we may not be able to safely prescribe — and we may need to pause or end the doctor–patient relationship.
5. Prescribing
Prescriptions issued by Enhanced Men are written by Enhanced Men's lead clinician (an NZ-registered doctor) or by another registered Enhanced Men prescriber working under the lead clinician's oversight.
- Funded vs unfunded medicines. Some of the medicines we prescribe are funded by Pharmac when you meet the Special Authority criteria for that medicine. Others — particularly some TRT preparations, performance and recovery medicines, and certain hair-loss products — are unfunded, meaning you pay the full pharmacy price. Your clinician will tell you which category your prescription falls under before it is sent.
- Dispensing. Prescriptions are sent to a New Zealand pharmacy of your choice (or one we suggest). The pharmacy charges you directly for the medication — that cost is separate from your Enhanced Men consult fee.
- Refusal to prescribe. Our clinicians may decline to prescribe a particular medicine — including one you've used before — where it is not clinically appropriate, not safe, or not consistent with our prescribing standards. We will explain why and discuss alternatives.
- Repeats and follow-up. Long-term treatments such as TRT require ongoing monitoring (typically including bloods, blood pressure, and a review consult on a defined cadence). Repeats are only issued after the agreed monitoring has been completed.
6. Fees and payment
- Consult fees are shown on the booking page before you confirm. The fee covers the clinician's time, the clinical note, and reasonable follow-up communication for the matter you booked for.
- Payment is taken at the time of booking via Stripe. We do not store your full card details — Stripe handles card processing under PCI DSS standards.
- Fees do not include the cost of pathology (blood tests), pharmacy dispensing, or external referrals — those are billed directly by the lab, pharmacy, or specialist.
- We may update our fees from time to time; the price shown at booking is the price you pay for that consult.
- See our Refunds and Cancellations policy for what happens if you need to move, miss, or cancel an appointment.
7. Patient responsibilities
To get the best out of your care, and to keep prescribing safe, you agree to:
- give us a full and current medical history, including over-the-counter medicines, supplements, recreational substances, and any anabolic or performance-related compounds;
- tell us promptly about new symptoms, side effects, or any change in your other medications;
- complete the blood tests and follow-up reviews we recommend;
- not share your account, your prescriptions, or your medications with anyone else;
- treat our clinicians and support staff respectfully — we may end the clinical relationship where this is not the case.
8. Emergencies
Enhanced Men does not provide emergency or after-hours care. If you have a medical emergency, are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or your situation cannot wait for the next available consult, call 111 or go straight to your nearest emergency department. For mental health support, 1737 is the free national line, available 24/7.
9. Limitation of liability
Enhanced Men provides clinical services with the reasonable care and skill expected of an NZ-registered medical clinic.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights or remedies you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 — those statutory guarantees apply to our services and we cannot, and do not, try to contract out of them.
- Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights, which is administered by the Health and Disability Commissioner.
- Subject to those statutory rights, Enhanced Men's liability for any matter arising out of your use of this website or our services is limited to a refund of the fees you paid us for the service in question.
- We are not liable for the acts or decisions of third parties we don't control — including pharmacies, pathology providers, ACC, Pharmac, your GP, or other treating clinicians.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care or how we have handled your information, we want to know.
- Email us first at info@enhancedmen.co.nz so we have the chance to put it right. We respond within 10 working days and aim to resolve concerns directly wherever we can.
- If you would prefer to escalate, or you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) under the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights at hdc.org.nz or 0800 11 22 33.
- For concerns specifically about a clinician's conduct, you can also contact the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- For information-handling complaints, see the Raising a privacy complaint section of our Privacy Policy.
We will not penalise you in any way for raising a complaint.
11. Intellectual property
The text, branding, images, video, and code on enhancedmen.co.nz are owned by Enhanced Men or used under licence. You're welcome to read, save, and share our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, or repackage our content (in whole or in substantial part) for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Information from your own clinical record remains yours under the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020 — see our Privacy Policy for how to request, correct, or move your record.
12. Ending the clinical relationship
Either side can end the doctor–patient relationship:
- You can end it at any time, for any reason, by emailing us. Your record is retained for the period required by the Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996.
- We can end it where we judge that continuing to care for you remotely is unsafe, where you have repeatedly missed appointments or screening, where prescribing standards cannot be met, or where the working relationship has broken down. Where we end the relationship, we will give you reasonable notice, write to you with the reason, and where appropriate help you transfer your care to your GP or another provider.
13. Third-party links and content
Our site may link to third-party resources — Pharmac criteria pages, pathology providers, the HDC, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, and so on. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. The New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under them.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our services or the law change. When we do:
- the updated version is published on this page at enhancedmen.co.nz/terms, with a fresh "last updated" date at the top;
- where the change materially affects you, we will email existing patients;
- the version in force at the time you book is the version that applies to that consult.
16. Information on this website
The information on enhancedmen.co.nz is provided for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, medication, or health concern. If anything on this site contradicts what your treating clinician has told you, follow your clinician.
17. Scope of practice
Enhanced Men's prescribing clinicians hold general scope registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. We are not endocrinologists, urologists, or vocationally registered general practitioners. We practise within our general scope and refer to specialists — endocrinology, urology, dermatology, mental health, fertility — when your situation requires expertise beyond ours.
18. Anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing substances — legal status
The use and possession of anabolic-androgenic steroids without a valid prescription is illegal in New Zealand under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975. Possession can carry up to 6 months imprisonment; supply up to 8 years. Many SARMs, peptides, and other unapproved prescription medicines obtained outside a New Zealand pharmacy also breach the Medicines Act 1981. Enhanced Men operates strictly within the bounds of New Zealand law and provides care and education focused on harm prevention, medical supervision, and safe withdrawal or transition strategies where clinically appropriate. For a doctor-written reference on individual compounds and their risks, see our research page.
19. Harm reduction approach
Enhanced Men provides harm-reduction and educational resources to support the health and safety of men who choose to use anabolic or performance-enhancing substances. We do not encourage, promote, or condone the use of anabolic steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs outside of prescribed medical supervision. Our role is to minimise harm, monitor health markers, and support informed decision-making for those at risk of adverse health outcomes — including safe withdrawal, transition, or post-cycle strategies where clinically appropriate. We may refer, decline to prescribe, or end the clinical relationship where continued use creates risks we cannot safely monitor.
