Why isn't hair transplant surgery part of Enhanced Men?
Surgical hair restoration needs an operating room, a surgical team, and in-person care — none of which belong in a telehealth clinic. Rather than sell you a watered-down version, we keep it simple, and the line is drawn by modality rather than by topic. Enhanced Men handles what telehealth genuinely does well — TRT, ED, enhanced athlete care, and non-surgical hair loss assessment and medical management — and hair transplant surgery stays where it's done properly. Enhanced Men and Gro Clinics are separate businesses — hair transplant consultations, assessments and surgery are provided by Gro Clinics directly.
How much does a hair transplant cost in New Zealand?
At Gro Clinics, a hair transplant in New Zealand typically costs between $8,000 and $20,000 NZD, depending on the number of grafts, the technique used, and clinical complexity. The graft count does most of the work, so the table below shows how typical graft counts map onto that range. Every case is assessed individually — book a consultation through groclinics.co.nz for a personalised quote.
| Grafts | Typical pattern | Zones usually covered | Where it sits in the $8,000–$20,000 NZD range |
|---|---|---|---|
| ~1,000–1,500 | Norwood 2 | temples and hairline | lower end |
| ~1,500–2,200 | Norwood 3 | hairline and frontal third | lower–middle |
| ~2,000–2,800 | Norwood 4 | frontal zone and mid-scalp | middle |
| ~2,500–3,500 | Norwood 5 | frontal zone plus crown | upper–middle |
| 3,500–4,500+ | Norwood 6 | large area; often staged over two sessions | upper end |
Graft bands are typical figures, not a quote — see how many grafts a hair transplant needs. The range is Gro's; the graft count is decided at consultation.
What does hair transplant surgery in New Zealand involve?
Modern hair transplant surgery in NZ is almost always FUE — follicular unit extraction. Individual grafts are taken from the donor area at the back and sides of the scalp and placed into the thinning zones, under local anaesthetic, usually within a single day. Most cases run to a few thousand grafts, and the transplanted hair takes 12–18 months to show its full result. The step-by-step version is in how a hair transplant works in NZ.
Gro Clinics' New Zealand procedures are performed at its clinic in Newmarket, Auckland; Gro also operates clinics in Australia. Dr Yeoman performs hair transplant surgery in Auckland only — patients travel from Wellington, Christchurch and across New Zealand for surgery, and much of the follow-up can be handled remotely.
