    02

    Consult

30-minute review of results, symptoms and goals with a clinician.

    03

    Bloods

Pre-treatment 12-marker panel including two AM testosterone readings.

    04

    Treatment

If eligibility criteria for a diagnosis of primary hypogonadism are met — TRT prescription, safe injection instructions, travel letters, guidance on administration, and follow-up plan.

    Honest expectations

TRT is a long-term commitment. Most men feel meaningful improvement within 6–12 weeks; full benefit takes 6 months. We will not start you on TRT if your bloods or history suggest a better path — including weight loss, sleep correction, or treating an underlying cause first.

TRT in Auckland — and everywhere else in New Zealand

Enhanced Men is an Auckland-based TRT clinic (Mount Eden) that sees men entirely by video, so a testosterone replacement therapy consult works the same in Auckland as it does in Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga or Dunedin. There is no GP referral and nothing to travel to.

The two early-morning testosterone tests and the rest of the panel are requested at a community collection centre near you; treatment, once hypogonadism is confirmed, is dispensed by your local pharmacy — the injectable products and the gel are Pharmac-funded, so the consult and the monitoring are what you pay for.

    What it costs

    Low Testosterone Assessment
    $149
30 minutes, doctor-led, includes the lab request
    Follow-up consult
    $149

    $620

Testosterone is Pharmac-funded once hypogonadism is confirmed, so the clinical service is the cost — not the medication.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Often, but not always — we will explore reversible causes first.

It can suppress sperm production. If fertility matters, we'll discuss adjuncts like hCG before starting.

Yes — most men train better.

TRT can accelerate male pattern hair loss in genetically predisposed men. We'll flag the risk during your consult so you can decide how you'd like to manage it.

Properly monitored TRT in men with confirmed deficiency has a strong safety record. We monitor quarterly to catch any concerns early.

The injectable testosterone products — testosterone cypionate, mixed testosterone esters and testosterone undecanoate — are fully funded in New Zealand, as is testosterone gel. There is no Special Authority to apply for. Only the oral capsule is restricted, by endorsement, to men prescribed it before November 2021. What funding follows is the diagnosis: testosterone is prescribed where hypogonadism is confirmed, which is what the bloodwork and assessment establish.

The Low Testosterone Assessment — the initial consult — is $149, and follow-up consults are $149. Most men on treatment move to the 12-month plan at $620 — four quarterly reviews with bloods, prescriptions and support — or pay it quarterly ($159 per quarter). The testosterone itself is Pharmac-funded once hypogonadism is confirmed, so the clinical service is the cost, not the medication.

Yes — when it is prescribed by a New Zealand-registered doctor for confirmed hypogonadism. Buying testosterone yourself is not: it is a prescription medicine, and unauthorised supply or importation is an offence under the Medicines Act 1981. Every prescription from Enhanced Men is dispensed by a NZ community pharmacy.

Yes. Enhanced Men is based in Mount Eden, Auckland, and every TRT consult is by video, so men in Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Dunedin and everywhere in between are seen the same way. Bloods are requested at a community collection centre near you and medication is dispensed by your local pharmacy.

Only if you want them to. We can liaise with them, or keep your care entirely with us.
